I was born in 1960, stand 5'7", have dark blond hair, hazel eyes, and a long brown beard. I'm originally from Northern California, but moved to Colorado in the mid-80's. I live in downtown Denver, with my lover of 20+ years, Van Floyd.

Both my partner and I are longtime computer nerds, going way back to the early days before there was one on every desktop, and in every briefcase, car and pocket. (I built my first one from a kit). Between us we have too many computers. I feel the best thing I get from the Internet is the sense of being connected to the world at large. The Internet has allowed me to make friends with people in many other countries, including ones I have not been fortunate enough to visit yet. And, yes, I do consider them to be my friends, even though our only contact is online. 200 years ago it was common for people in different countries to carry on lifelong correspondences with colleges in distant countries, and even though they may have never met in person, they valued these intellectual exchanges.

When not sitting in dark room, staring at the computer screen, I enjoy traveling. So far I've been on 5 of the 7 continents and been swimming in 5 of the 7 seas. I still have yet to visit Africa and Antarctica, but I'm working on those. You can read about our latest travels here. I also love foods from around the world, and enjoy cooking and baking different ethnic cuisines. I love reading books, (For nonfiction, favorite subjects range from ancient history and languages to astronomy and physics. For fiction, science fiction. Favorite author, Terry Pratchett). These days, though I find myself listening to more audiobooks. They allow me to move around and do other things while still "reading" a book. I get mine from Audible.com.
