Ariss Kahan Database Marketing Group, Inc. was founded in 1994 by Kahan to bring sophisticated database marketing techniques and technology to companies who could benefit from that service but who, for budgetary or staff reasons, had not been able to take advantage of it.

Kahan began his database marketing career in 1985 as manager of the Northern New Jersey branch of DialAmerica Marketing. A series of promotions led him to the position of Marketing Information Manager with that company. In 1989, Kahan was recruited and moved to Denver to accept a position in new product development for The Marketing Resources Group of U S West, where he was employed until forming Ariss Kahan.

A self-professed database marketing “evangelist”, Kahan is a frequent contributor of articles to trade publications. His reputation as an industry leader and database marketing expert has led to numerous speaking engagements around the country as well.

Kahan is active within industry volunteerism as past -president of the Rocky Mountain Direct Marketing Association (RMDMA) for the 1997-98 term. He also is currently an officer for the Business Marketing Association Colorado Chapter. (BMA-CO).

Kahan was named Direct Marketer of the Year by the RMDMA and presented with the much-coveted Grand Eagle award in 1999. In 2001, the company he co-founded was awarded the Supplier of the Year Eagle award from the RMDMA.

With primary responsibility for project management and production, Ariss brings his comprehensive direct marketing experience into play for Ariss Kahan clients. Capabilities he oversees include copywriting, graphic design, print production, plastic card programs, customized mailer construction, and complete lettershop capabilities. He knows how to keep client costs down by placing projects where they will run most efficiently with the correct vendors.

Ariss has been directing the creation, execution and tracking of large-scale direct marketing programs for over 20 years. He has served as vice president of direct marketing for a large Denver print and mail house, director of sales & marketing for G. A. Wright Direct Marketing, executive vice president and publisher of a national magazine, manager at GTE Directory Company, and owner of The Ariss Group, a firm which specialized in consulting to magazine and catalog publishers for both advertising sales and direct marketing to subscribers.

Ariss is active in civic and professional groups. He is past president of the Rocky Mountain Direct Marketing Association, former board of directors member for the National Society of Fund Raising Executives, a former Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, and a vestry member at St. Gabriel the Archangel Episcopal Church. He also coaches his son’s 6th grade Lacrosse team.
